It is part of the seat and shld be dealt with delicately.) Step 4: Take your non-heated seat baffles to an upholstry shop and have them put the heated elements into them. In the meantime let's work on your wiring harness considering you wo't be able to drive with no seats. haha.
The heated seats are not the best. I had a Insignia Eco 2010 model from work. The heat on those seats were far greater than the BMW. Maybe BMW took it consideration that too much heat on the seats would make the driver lazy, thus reducing the awareness of the drivers. Last edited by immy786r123; 09-20-2016 at 04:43 AM..
Hello, One day I jumped my friends car and upon doing so my heated seat buttons stopped working and so did the traction control button ( all located in the same row below the radio and storage space). The buttons will not light up or do anything when pressed. I suspect that it may be a fuze but am unsure on which one. My car is a 2005 325xi.
For the uninitiated, this is a string of alpha-numeric codes reflect exactly with which options that car left the factory. (source: Understanding BMW's ZCS System — Bimmer Coding NA) Most importantly here, in the VO, is the specific alpha-numeric code for the heated seat option, which is S494, also seen as $494.
I'm not sure if it's just how it is from the factory or there's a resistor that eventually breaks down, but my heated seats on the lowest setting are intolerable after about 5 minutes. I know for a fact that at least newer models don't nuke your back but I'm curious if there's anyway you can fix this to make the lowest setting a mild heat. Vote.

Go slow spray some oil then just barely try to recline then stop and go the other way. Rinse and repeat. Help with your arm on the seat back while you operate the switch. Suppose you could have a bad seat switch but only way to test that would be to get the seat out and start putting 12 volts to all the motors individually to see if they work
1. Black 8 pin plug, takes +12v and neg, it takes CAN_H and CAN_L (yellow and black) This will make the seats work in INPA. NOTE there is NO differance between the passanger seat and front driver seat modules, the passanger seat only has one additional negative that the drivers does not have. 2.
The attached PDF is for a car that has no wiring. You will probably find your car has most of it. Check your fuses to make sure both connectors are on the back side.
