HBO MAX update. Is anyone having problems with the latest HBO Max update from April 25, 2021? Device is Apple TV HD 4. TV OS is 14.4.xxx. HBO Max was working perfectly until a few days ago, now it seems to hang (the three dots forever) and the only way to correct the problem is to restart the AppleTV.

According to the email, one of two things was supposed to happen. Either HBO Max would automatically update to Max or, when you opened HBO Max, you would be prompted to download the Max app. And

HBOMax on TV shows purple screen not loading. We were able to watch a whole movie on 12/22 and now we are unable to login to watch another. It doesn’t even show the login screen. It says “you are connecting to a 3rd party” and then nothing, a purple screen. I can open and watch a movie thru HBOmax on my phone and laptop but not on the TV.
The built in X1 app “HBO Max” app won’t load. It stays on the purple logo screen. This only occurs on the “Media Room” cable box. It runs fine in the “Family Room” cable box. 
Overall, the new HBO Max app for Apple TV feels more on par with Netflix when it comes to loading times and navigation. Also: my favorite part about the HBO Max app is still here.

It is connected to the internet and the preinstalled apps, like Netflix work. However, it will not install any apps (Spectrum, HBO MAX, HBO GO, Disney +). When I select "Install" it looks like it begins to install and displays a zero (0), like it is beginning. However it stays like that for a moment, then goes back to app info page.

It looks like your Apple TV subscription does not include HBO Max. If you believe you have received this message in error, please contact your provider." HBO Max through Apple TV works fine on iPads, using the HBO Max app, but does not allow login on MacBooks.

You can go to Settings > System > Restart. Alternatively, you can unplug your Apple TV from the power source and leave it unplugged for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it in again. Restart your modem and/or router. Poor or no internet connection can lead to HBO Max videos that won’t load or keep buffering.
This is me right now, too. 1. K8-E. • 3 yr. ago. Autoplay isn't working for HBOMax Apple TV app for me. I know it isn't that deep at the end of the day, but it's honestly driving me crazy. I'm not trying to pay $15/month and have a basic feature not work. (NOTE: I have checked that both the app and my Apple TV software are both up-to-date.) 1. Sign in to the Max app on Flex and X1. To begin the sign in process, launch the Max app. Navigate to the Connect Your Provider option in the middle of the menu using the Right arrow on your Xfinity remote. Then click OK or the center button on the remote to sign in. A QR code and a unique activation code will display on screen for single use .
