I have just reset the timing on my 1.4 16v Mito following the timing belt going. I used the correct tools to set and lock the crank and cam shafts in position when fitting a new belt and subsequent compression tests showed good compression at roughly 230 psi on all 4 cylingers.

1.4 Clio Timing Belt Change Question. I have a 2006 1.4 Clio Dynamique and it is due a timing belt change. the Haynes manual suggests removing the TDC sensor to lock the crankshaft whilst removing the pulley bolt. I am unable to locate this sensor.

don't use the flywheel. the first time i did my 16v timing belt i spent 2 days doing it because the flywheel mark was wrong use the marks on the pulleys and on the block itself (as it says in the Bentley). and i was using a stock flywheel. there are marks on the bottom cover that lines up with a mark on the crank pulley.
