position of TDC pin setting point. Insert the TDC setting pin (Mot. 1054) and rotate the engine slightly clockwise (timing end) until the setting point is reached. At the setting point the camshaft grooves must be horizontal and offset below the centre line. Fit the (Mot. 1496) onto the ends of the camshafts. Remove:

I have just reset the timing on my 1.4 16v Mito following the timing belt going. I used the correct tools to set and lock the crank and cam shafts in position when fitting a new belt and subsequent compression tests showed good compression at roughly 230 psi on all 4 cylingers.

1.4 Clio Timing Belt Change Question. I have a 2006 1.4 Clio Dynamique and it is due a timing belt change. the Haynes manual suggests removing the TDC sensor to lock the crankshaft whilst removing the pulley bolt. I am unable to locate this sensor.

With my ZS 120 (K series, 4 cylinder petrol) being over 6 years old and approaching 60,000 miles on what looks like the original cam-belt, I eventually found time to change it. After referring to lots of useful stuff on the Forum (1955Diesel thread and MGJohn’s various tips), here’s what I did. Repair. Disconnect –ve lead on battery.

[EN subtitles] This video is not about how to DIY-fit a camshaft timing belt, but watch #HowToBloke chat about the recent cam belt change on his 2009 diesel

don't use the flywheel. the first time i did my 16v timing belt i spent 2 days doing it because the flywheel mark was wrong use the marks on the pulleys and on the block itself (as it says in the Bentley). and i was using a stock flywheel. there are marks on the bottom cover that lines up with a mark on the crank pulley.

Timing belt. Timing belt engines are generally quieter and less vibrating than chain engines, but belt usually needs to be replaced more often and the risk of breakage is higher.
